The new E-Class Cabriolet
The fully electric fabric top provides a comfortable open-air ambience at the touch of a button. It opens and closes in approx. 20 seconds at speeds up to 40 km/h. From close range the roof can also be operated using the radio remote control in the key.
In future the open-air driving season will be longer thanks to AIRSCARF: when the roof is open, heated air from the AIRSCARF vents in the head restraints warms the shoulder and neck areas of the driver and front passenger (optional). This innovative neck-level heating is available as an option for the E-Class Cabriolet.
The intelligent head restraints make driving the E-Class Cabriolet even more pleasant: when a seat belt is fastened, all head restraints are automatically brought to the upper position and then move back after the belt is unfastened. The driver can also simply operate them with the touch of a button.
Efficiency and sportiness go hand in hand: in the interests of the environment and driving pleasure, the engines develop a higher output due to efficiency measures and have been optimised with respect to emissions and fuel consumption. Perfectly coordinated transmissions ensure that the engine power is optimally transferred and that there is more dynamism in driving performance.
The ultimate in open-top motoring for four � it�s made possible by AIRCAP in the new E-Class Cabriolet. AIRCAP guides the airflow over the entire interior and ensures more ride comfort. The innovative technology is available as an option and comprises an air deflector module in front with electric operation in the roof frame and a draught-stop between the rear head restraints.
